Love Paula Scher and she’s here next week..

If you don’t know who she is, come by the Welsh Theatre at Suffolk University on Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 to listen to a one-on-one interview with her. I’ll be there. Paula is both a graphic designer and an artist. She is a partner at Pentogram in New York and has done graphic design work for clients like Citibank, Tiffany & Co., New York Times, Target.  She’s huge.  Her work is even represented in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.  Her recent paintings are of these huge maps that are visually stunning. She says that when she paints she can be as oblique and absurd as she likes. It is all her own voice as opposed to when she is doing her graphic design work, the client then has a big say in what is going on. She’s very verbal and honest unlike most artists so the interview should be worthwhile.

I went back to camp! WordCamp that is…

Or  Nerd camp, since it took place at the Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge, MA! This one day conference that took place on Saturday, Jan 23 for WordPress beginners, developers, designers and enthusiasts was so well run and so worth it that I wished it had been a weekend long event. I would attend another WordCamp again in a minute. I left totally psyched to jump on my macbook pro and get my blog up and running complete with themes, plugins, images, sounds, and videos. So why don’t you see an amazing blog right now you ask?? You will, my friends, you will. Give me time and I will show you what I have learned from this amazing conference.
